The gospel is for every member of the church family, from the youngest to the oldest, and it can be understood by all when it is expressed in terms of everyday experiences to which everyone can relate at their own level. Jesus himself knew this, and that is one of the reasons why he taught in parables. The ideas in this book aim to present the gospel message in a way that will mean something to every member of the congregation.
Successful all-age worship also springs from shared participation in the teaching. These lively, imaginative and practical suggestions encourage movement, speech and action, which are essential if the whole group is to feel involved. Humour plays an important part, but more important still is the greater sense of togetherness which a more open and uninhibited expression of faith and feeling makes possible.
