Star Rating Could be used privately, but is intended for group work. Like Morley, she recognises what is to be gained by starting from real life, but takes advantage of this by basing the course on two films that have probably earned a place on the post 9 p.m. Christmas viewing schedules: Calendar Girls and The Full Monty. Each week, there are three short meditations for personal use, in preparation for the group session, which always includes a film clip, a biblical reading, discussion, an imaginative exercise, and a closing meditation that relies on some embodied action. It is a provocative, well-thought-through, carefully crafted course, with board appeal, although perhaps too touchy-feely for those who find sharing the Peace difficult. (Posted on 05/04/2011)
