Down to Earth

Down to Earth offers worship leaders a variety of alternatives to the usual Advent, Christmas and Epiphany services and suggests new interpretations of the familiar and deeply loved story of Christ's coming.
The 15 services contain imagined reflections by various Bible characters, such as Mary and Joseph, Elizabeth and Zechariah. These reflections may be used in place of a sermon or teaching slot, as the focus of a Eucharistic service, or to form part of an Advent for use in youth groups, secondary school worship and house church.
We are challenged to reflect on the familiar Christmas story in a new way and look again at the individuals who met Jesus 2000 years ago. For they were as we are: flawed, frightened, anxious, astonished and changed for ever by their encounter with the living God.
