Joanne Marie Greer, PHD, is a Professor Emerita of Pastoral Counselling at Loyola University Maryland, USA, where she formerly directed the research component of the pastoral counselling doctoral programme. She is also a retired psychoanalyst. She has edited two books on sexual abuse victims and sexual abusers. She also edited the professional journal Research in the Social Scientific Study of Religion until retirement. She has written a number of journal articles on public health, mental health, and religion and spirituality.
