Born into a musical family, Susie has been making music for as long as she can remember, starting piano lessons when she was four and, at the age of ten, becoming the youngest recipient of a Hampshire County Music Scholarship. She trained as a teacher, majoring in composition, and with the added bonus of a flair for words, has since written many musicals, songs for schools and hymns for churches. She was Music Director of St Mary's Church, Basingstoke from 1990 to 2005 and is now an established Christian songwriter.
In 2005 Susie was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Fearing it to be the end of her career, she discovered that, quite to the contrary, God was setting her on a new path and in her warm, witty autobiography, Susie tells of how she now lives 'A Different Song'. Susie lives in Hampshire with her husband, Rob, and has two daughters and five grandchildren.
