Violin
Great for complete beginners or those returning to playing Review by P Barlow (Amazon, Mar 2010)
Star Rating
Bought this book because I have recently dusted off my old violin which I have not played since schooldays (a very long time ago!)

This book is not a tutor book but is a book of short modern pieces which introduce the notes one or two at a time. At first I thought this was going to be too simple, boring even, but the backing tracks on the CD are wonderful and I have had such fun playing along with them. Good book to use as a supplement to a proper tutor book and/or lessons. Great fun! (Posted on 11/01/2013)
Razzamajazz Violin Review by Gabrielle Horne

Suitable from the moment they can bow across the A string. Another great hit with pupils. Simple and repetetive, but with a "cool" backing, this is very popular and works well with whole classes. (Posted on 27/04/2010)

"Razzamajazz was the first series I wrote and I still think it is one of the most useful. The idea behind the various instrumental versions was to provide a way of learning an instrument while playing actual pieces. I thought the teacher might find it a useful accompaniment to the traditional tutor book.

I really wanted to write pieces which made the student sound good, right from the very first note. I wanted to set the student up for success by writing each piece with a special accompaniment that made them feel they had achieved something great, and made them want to turn the page and learn more.." - Sarah Watts
