stroke of luck Review by Klaus Storm
Star Rating
By coincidence I discovered "Fresh Air" by Sarah Watts. I can highly recomend them, also for young students. Beautiful sounding pieces, not difficult to play, perfect for the Oboe. The piano part is also playable for eberybody and sounds very nice. My students and I love the the "Fresh Air" pieces - thanks Mrs. Watts! (Posted on 27/04/2010)
lively... audience-friendly... colourful... rewarding Review by Paul Stebbings
Star Rating
Fresh Air (grades 1-3) by Sarah Watts is a lively collection of 12 pieces with piano, and six unaccompanied studies. They are all highly audience-friendly pieces, ranging in character from hoedown to waltz, and in style from folk to swing. I particularly enjoyed Woman in the Woods, which is melancholic, and Skatastrophy, in punchy swing style. The studies, with their colourful titles (Study in Green, Study in Purple and so on) explore a variety of techniques and rhythmic patterns, always with plenty of rewarding musical interest.
