Translation is Fresh, Clear and Stylish Review by Extracts from Rev John Snaith - Methodist Recorder 22/10/2009

The English Style of King’s translation is fresh, clear and Stylish, bringing out the metaphors very clearly without trying to harmonise it with the Hebrew text. The footnotes are very helpful. This book will be interest not only to scholars but also to the general public who will be stimulation not only by the literary style but also by the sight differences in the imagery from the Hebrew passages he cites – seeing the Old Testament from a slightly different point of view (Posted on 05/04/2011)

Excerpt from full review...

This translation... is an important translation, which reminds us that for an understanding of the Old Testament in the early Church our ordinary Bibles are obviously insufficient. This translation is not meant primarily for scholars but for ordinary readers. That is why Fr. King has also added a very small number of comments.

This translation by a very experienced translator is highly recommended. (Posted on 22/02/2011)
