Alan studied piano at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He was a deputy headteacher with a particular interest in music education and also taught jazz and classical piano at Bedford High School. Alan is an established composer and performer and has had over fifty albums of music published by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and Kevin Mayhew Publishers, including the Play Piano course and the Fun Club series for various instruments.
