Super book for beginners Review by Highbridge, UK (musicroom)

It is fun, the backing tracks are great, and theory is tackled from the start with games, wordsearch, crossword, etc. Good progression, which continues into book 2. Pupils really enjoy it. So do I!!

My eight year old daughter has just started to learn how to play the flute at school and this book was recommended as a great starter. The book is well illustrated, colourful, bright and full of helpful tips. This has enriched my daughter's enjoyment of playing this instrument. (Posted on 22/01/2013)

Finally a tutor that kids Love. Review by Mr. R. A. Williams (Amazon, May 2011)

Having taught the flute for far too long I've always struggled to find a tutor that is appropriate for younger students. A great series that has lessons (Sets) that most students can cope with one a week. A well written book that students love. The CD is great although as with most tutors the speeds are a little fast for beginners. This book is the younger version of Teenage Funky Flute. (Posted on 14/01/2013)

At last - a beginners flute book which doesn't go too quickly & is fun Review by CHERIE FLYNN (Amazon, Jan 2011)

After many years of searching I have finally found a flute tutor series which doesn't go too quickly, children find fun, the pictures are engaging and the CD is very useful. The backing tracks on the CD make practicing more fun and aural tests and writing tunes are encouraged right from book 1. Thanks to Heather Hammond my flute pupils are enjoying their lessons even more now. I found book 1 with the CD a useful resource for sightreading and listening work for pupils who are on higher tutor books. I can't fault this series at all. My only wish is that one day more books of a higher level will be added to the series and that I can find an equivalent keyboard tutor series. (Posted on 14/01/2013)
Excellent for the slower learner Review by Operanut

I initially had a free copy of this book, and put it in the back of my music cupboard as I had a rash of students who had previously played recorders etc. More recently I have had younger and less able students starting and have dug the book back out. If offers much more than some of the standard tutor books at the early stages, with a variety of exercises on just a few notes, and the kids love the backing CDs. I expect it would also work well for Whole Class tuition. (Posted on 24/03/2011)
Funky Book Review by Richard Smith

I started to use this book on my own before I started to use it with Josephine in Leek. I taught myself how to play Cop Chase by memory and it's very easy to learn as well I think this the best book for beginners and I would like to give it 5 Stars. (Posted on 27/04/2010)
An enticing and encouraging tutor Review by Ruth Avis

I am a fairly new instrument teacher (2 years now) and I was so pleased to find this book. It works well with my peripatetic tuition - with all too brief lessons - as the cd provides musically enticing accompaniments which encourages practice between lessons. The material has so far worked well with both slow and fast progressers. The teacher's book has easy but musically pleasing piano parts which I have enjoyed playing. Also, pupils are attracted to the puzzles and rhythm games - in other tutors these bits seem to get dismissed by pupils! The additional 'repertoire' books are great for additional material for the fast progressers. (Posted on 27/04/2010)
