        William Lloyd Webber

William Lloyd Webber (d. 1982), hailed as "one of the finest all-round musicians" of his century in Britain, led a distinguished academic career as Director of the London College of Music and Professor at the Royal College of Music. Also a renowned organist, he composed extensively in a highly romantic style, showing influences of Franck, Sibelius, and Rachmaninov. His works drew significant praise; his orchestral tone poem Aurora was called "skillfully and sumptuously scored" and "sensuous," while his Missa Sanctae Mariae Magdalenae was lauded for its "beautiful, deeply-felt writing" and "instinctive feeling for words and choral colouring."

        Description: Missa Princeps Pacis

Showcasing him in the light of a composer who was true to himself and who fully embraced his signature style, this is music that is romantic, melodious and - above all - heartfelt.

This is also music that goes beyond the accepted conventions of his day - music whose time has come!

This is an uncomplicated but lyrical setting of the Latin texts of the Mass - Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus and Agnus Dei - for mixed voices and organ.

Missa Princeps Pacis bears all the hallmarks of William Lloyd Webber's romantic style of composition - lovely melodies, gracious phrasing and warm harmonies.
