        Bethany Wakim

Bethany Wakim was born and raised in Massachusetts, USA. Both her parents are church musicians and taught her to play the piano from an early age. Throughout her school years, she took piano and violin lessons and sang in choirs. Later, she worked as an accompanist while earning her bachelors in mathematics. In 2017, she began composing for solo piano as a hobby while working as a maths teacher. Perhaps due to her love of mathematics, she became fascinated with odd meters and mixed modes, and grew to love the skill of engraving. Since then, she has written over a hundred original works for solo piano, arranged several hymns for solo piano and duet, and set a few sacred texts to music for her home church.
