He was Organist and Master of the Schola Cantorum of Downside Abbey, a 90-strong choir of boys and girls drawn from the school, which regularly sang for services, recordings and concerts. Christopher was much in demand as a composer of accessible church and organ music, and undertook many commissions for schools and churches.
